A cloud of grief hangs over Orange Farm after a family’s desperate search for their son ended in heartbreak.Solomon, a Grade 12 learner at eLeshata Secondary School, was found deceased at the Sebokeng Mortuary, just days after he mysteriously disappeared on Saturday evening.
According to the family, the young learner left home to visit his girlfriend and never returned. What started as hours of anxious waiting turned into days of agony, as calls went unanswered and hope slowly faded. The family’s worst fears were confirmed when they were called to identify his body at the mortuary.
In an era where life has become painfully unpredictable, Solomon’s story is a haunting reminder of a harsh reality facing many parents. Children leave home for school, to visit friends, to live their youth and never return. For some, the school gate becomes the last place they are ever seen alive.
Solomon was in his final year of high school, a year that should have been filled with matric dance preparations and dreams of graduation. Instead, his desk at eLeshata will remain empty. The family is devastated and appealing for privacy as they come to terms with the loss.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear at this stage. Police investigations are expected to continue. May his soul rest in peace.
