A Sunday morning shrouded in grief and fear. A community left searching for answers as two lives are lost within hours. Residents of Orange Farm have been urged to exercise caution and remain vigilant following reports of two separate deaths in the area on Sunday morning.
The community awoke to distressing reports from two different locations, sparking concern and uncertainty across the township south of Johannesburg.
In the first incident, a person was reportedly found deceased near the JC Stop Sign area. According to initial, unverified information circulating among residents, the deceased allegedly sustained what appeared to be stab wounds. The identity of the victim has not been established, and the exact circumstances leading to the death remain unknown.
In a second, unrelated report, an elderly woman was reportedly found deceased in the Cona Bree area of Orange Farm. At the time of reporting, the body was said to still be at the scene, awaiting the arrival and completion of formal procedures by authorities.
As of publication, neither the South African Police Service (SAPS) nor Forensic Pathology Services have officially confirmed the incidents. Police have not yet released statements regarding the cause of death, possible foul play, or whether any investigations have been opened.
The incidents have left many residents shaken, with calls for increased police visibility and community safety patrols. Authorities are expected to provide official confirmation and further details once preliminary investigations are concluded.
